Compared withsensibleandlatentheatstorage,thermochemicalheatstoragehastheadvantagesofhigh
storagecapacity,lowstorageloss,etc.,whichmakeitbecomeamostpromisingcandidateforheat
storage.Amongnumerousmaterialsusedforthermochemicalheatstorage,magnesiumbasedmaterials
are abundant,inexpensiveandhaveahighstoragedensity,thereforetheyhaveattractedextensive
investigations.Inthispaperatwodimensionalmathematicalmodelfortheheatreleasingprocessofthe
Mg/MgH2 systemwasestablishedtostudythetransientheatandmasstransferprocess.Theresultsshow
that theeffectiveheattransferisthekeyfactorinfluencing theoutputpower.Withtheadditionofmetal
foams, theeffectivethermalconductivityhasasignificant promotion,andtherebyshortening
the reactiontimeandimprovingtheoutputpower.Aparametricstudywasconductedtoexamine
the optimalconditionsforthehighestoutputpowerandasensitivityanalysiswasperformedtoevaluate
the variousfactorsinfluencing thereactiontime.
