Computed Aided Engineering (CAE) technology is a
rapidly-developing computing technology. It is
not only a core technology for design analysis,
simulation and optimization of important
engineering projects and industrial products,
but also the most important tool and means to
support the theoretical research and innovative
design by engineers and scientists. Through
decades of development, CAE technology has been
successfully applied in relevant fields, such as
aeronautics, astronautics, nuclear industry,
weaponry industry, shipbuilding industry,
automobile industry, machinery industry,
electronic industry, civil engineering industry
and material industry. Besides, it is gradually
becoming a key technology for the
informatization of manufacturing industry
currently.
China CAE Annual Conference is a large-scale and
influential meeting in China that is held once a
year. This conference provides a platform for
the scientists, exports and engineers from
relevant fields to communicate or cooperate with
each other, or publish their latest research
achievements. As a matter of fact, CAE annual
conference has been successfully convened for
three times in three different places, namely,
Beijing, Qingdao and Dalian. During these
conferences, more than 750 representatives from
national defense technology industry, automotive
manufacturing industry, machinery and equipment
industry, electronic industry, civil engineering
industry and education industry attended the
meeting. In fact, CAE annual conference has
already become a professional platform for the
exchange of information and knowledge among CAE
experts and simulation engineers.
This annual conference will invite the leaders
from relevant departments of science and
technology, scientific research institutes,
manufacturing enterprises and universities,
academicians from two academies, famous experts,
and representatives from some software or
hardware manufacturers to give a speech. It is
estimated that over 500 people will attend this
conference. In conclusion, this annual
conference will become the highest-level, the
largest and the most influential meeting than
ever before.

I. Objectives
To enhance the capabilities of our enterprises
to develop new products, to shorten the
development circle of new products, to increase
the design quality of new products and optimize
the development procedures of new products, to
reduce the cost for developing new products, to
expand the application of CAE technology in
product research and manufacturing process, to
rapidly strengthen the competitive power of our
enterprises in the market, and to promote our
products from “Made in China” to “Developed in
China”.
To establish a platform for the communication
and cooperation among various manufacturing
enterprises, scientific research institutes and
universities.

III. Activities
1. Speeches
The leaders from relevant industries,
academicians from two academies and famous
experts will be invited to give a speech during
this annual conference.
2. Sub-Conferences for Special Topics
（1）Science and Technology Industry for National
Defense：the science and technology industry for
national defense has always been the largest and
the most mature industry for the application of
CAE technology. This sub-conference covers
aeronautics, astronautics, weaponry industry,
nuclear industry and relevant special
industries.
（2）Automobile Industry and Transportation: the
automobile manufacturing industry is also one of
the most mature industries for the application
of CAE technology. In recent years, the fast
development of railway transportation and
shipbuilding industry also provides a huge need
on the application of CAE technology. This
sub-conference covers automobile and spare part
manufacturing, internal combustion engine
manufacturing, special vehicle and locomotive
manufacturing, and digital shipbuilding.
（3）Advanced Manufacturing and Application: CAE
technology will play a critical role during the
process from “Made in China” to “Developed in
China”. As the most important tool and means for
the innovative design, CAE technology is also
extensively applied in such fields as materials
technology, electronic industry, ocean
engineering, petroleum and chemical industry,
pressure vessel technology, civil engineering,
bridge projects and bioscience industry.
（4）Application of High Performance Computing：in
high performance computing field, a basic trend
is the fact that more and more CPUs will be
connected together to form a group so as to
complete those complicated calculations. CAE is
a typical area for the application of high
performance computing and it needs to carry out
a lot of kinds of parameter calculations. In
order to expand the application of high
performance computing in the manufacturing
industry, this annual conference provides this
sub-conference to discuss about the application
of high performance computing technology.
（5）Discussion on New Popular Topics: this annual
conference will also organize the discussion on
relevant special topics, such as “CAE Technology
for Large Airplane Design and Manufacturing”,
“Thermal Protection, Life Support, Dynamics and
Control of Aerospacecrafts”, “CAE Platform
Technology for Collaborative Simulation” and
“Exploitation and Cultivation of Talented People
for CAE Technology”. During the conference, the
organizing committee for this annual conference
will also provide a scene consultation program:
Face to Face with Experts (this means this
conference will collect those complicated
simulation analysis problems from enterprises
and then organize some experts from relevant
industries to provide scene consultation
services or answer the questions). This program
will also become a special feature of this
annual conference.
All the experts from relevant industries,
academic leaders, scientific research workers,
simulation analysis engineers and famous
domestic or foreign software or hardware
manufactures are welcomed to give a speech
concerning the topics mentioned above and
introduce the latest development or application
cases of CAE technology in China or overseas.
3. Exhibition
The organizing committee for this annual
conference will arrange the exhibitions for new
technologies, new products, software and
hardware in the open area for main conference.
We would like to express our warm welcome to
domestic and foreign software or hardware
manufactures, research institutes, universities
and enterprises to attend our exhibitions.
4. Paper Selection
This annual conference will collect the papers
around the entire country. Then its organizing
committee will invite relevant experts to
evaluate the papers collected and select the
excellent ones. We will provide awards and
certificates for the papers selected and we will
also recommend them to some magazines for
publication. Please check Point 5 below for the
requirements on the papers.
5. Collection of Papers for Best Practice Case
Award
In order to share the successful experience in
applying CAE technology to support the product
innovation and also to expand the application of
CAE technology, the organizing committee for
this annual conference will select some papers
for “2008 Best Practice Case of CAE Application
in China” award, so we would like to sincerely
invite all enterprises to participate in this
activity here.
The projects that are eligible to attend this
competition must be a product analysis project
or phase achievement completed after January,
2007. Any project that is being planned or
implemented currently can not participate in
this competition. No fee will be charged for
this competition.
6. Banquet and Performance
In order to express our thanks to all attendants
and partners for their attention and support to
this annual meeting, the organizing committee
will host a banquet at the night when the
conference is convened. During the banquet, the
committee will provide various awards and
arrange some shows with Shanbei characteristics
(we also welcome those representatives who can
perform to participate in the shows. If you are
interested, please contact the organizing
committee in advance so that the committee can
make arrangement correspondingly).
7. Tour
Xi’an used to be called Chang’an in ancient
times. It is one of important places where the
ancient Yellow River civilization was generated,
one of four ancient capitals in the world and
the oldest capital that lasted the longest in
China. As a matter of matter, this city has been
there for over 3000 years. From the Western Zhou
Dynasty to Tang Dynasty, there have been 13
dynasties that built their capitals in this
city. Besides, Xi’an is also well known as a
“Natural History Museum” for ancient Chinese
society. Here, there are the best preserved and
the largest walls in the world, and four
heritage sites from Zhou Dynasty, Qin Dynasty,
Han Dynasty and Tang Dynasty occupy the total
area of 108 square kilometers.
IV. Requirements on Papers
(1) All papers should closely follow the topics
concerned. They should be complete in content,
accurate in data and have smooth writing. The
number of words in the paper shall not exceed
5000. Besides, the papers should have not been
published in some magazine or newspaper before.
(2) All papers should be submitted in Word
document and A4 size. All margins (top, bottom,
left and right) should be 30mm.
(3) The title (22-point, bold) should be
centered; the authors’ name (10.5-point, Kai
font) should be placed below the title (leave a
blank between them) and centered; the authors’
working place, region and postal code (9-point,
Song font) should be put below authors’ name
(leave a blank line between them); then it
should be the abstract and keywords (9-point,
Fangsong font) below that (leave a blank line
between them); the text should be written in
10.5-point and Song font. You can use Arabic
numbers to mark each heading title (such as 1,
1.1 and 1.1.1); the charts or sheets should be
arranged compactly and the lines must be clear
enough; please list all the reference materials
for the paper (9-piont, Song font), the brief
introduction of primary author and his contact
information (around 100 words, 9-point, Song
font) after the text; all pages need not be
numbered.
(4) Please attach the information about all the
authors for the paper after the last page of the
paper, including their title, degree, position,
research direction and contact information.
Besides, please also indicate the classification
of the paper according to five special topics
mentioned above.
(5) No fee will be charged for submitting your
paper. All papers will be used for the
communication and exchange among the insiders
only.
(6) Since this conference is non-confidential,
please do not include any confidential
information in your paper. Otherwise, you shall
bear the responsibilities correspondingly.
(7) All papers shall be sent to
51meeting@163.com before May 24th.
V. Fees
1) Registration Fee: RMB1800 /person (including
the fees for registration, materials and meals,
except the hotel cost).
2) The fees for becoming a title sponsor,
sponsor or co-organizer of this annual
conference will be determined based on actual
situations.
3) The fees mentioned above do not include the
attendants’ transportation cost and hotel cost,
although the conference service team can arrange
these issues on behalf of the attendants.
4) This conference will be organized by Beijing
Innovative Manufacturing Technology Development
Center, who can provide the official receipt for
this conference to the attendants.
